Although we’re hearing a lot of information about businesses that are temporarily closed, we wanted to let you know that business within Southwest Florida’s housing industry is going on as usual. We wanted to share this information to reassure people who are either wanting to buy or sell a home.
For example, between mid to late March, there were 840 new listings that came onto the market. A total of 871 homes have sold in that same time period. Data from the MLS further indicates that there are 641 new or pending sales that have gone under contract.
Sellers and buyers also seem to be especially motivated and are taking advantage of the digital tools available to communicate and view properties, while ensuring their safety and social distancing.
Of the approximate 15,000 total listings in Southwest Florida, nearly 1,000 of those listings underwent a price decrease during the last two weeks in March.
