Greetings and happy March. As we’re entering the third month of 2023, we have countless homeowners asking us if it’s still a good time to list. And while we’re assuredly on the right side of the housing market bell curve, the market is still in dire need of listings.
For example, data from Florida Gulf Coast University notes that during the month of January, single-family home building permits were down 20% from the same reporting period in 2022. FGCU also reports that single-family home prices in SWFL counties reflected a 2-4% year-over-year increase. Consumer sentiment is also on the rise.
It’s also worth noting that a report put out last month by Scholaroo found that SWFL remains one of the best places in the country to live. Their study compared more than 150 cities based on metrics such as affordability, infrastructure, crime and safety, and quality of life, among others, and once that information was tallied, they ranked Naples as the #1 city in the US to live. Fort Meyers ranked among the top 50.
