Happy August everyone– we hope you’ve been enjoying your summer! As we’ve noted in the past several months, single-family re-sale homes in the Southwest Florida real estate market are still a hot commodity. Buyers are still actively competing with one another- and in some cases, bidding wars mean that owners are getting offers at $5,000-$10,000+ above their listing price.

Suffice to say, if you’ve been thinking about listing your home, you’ll want to do it soon. For example, a recent article in Yahoo News found that many wealthy Americans have been buffering their savings accounts since the pandemic began, and statistics show that a growing number of individuals and families have been investing their dollars in real estate. This, combined with increased trends in telecommuting and historically low mortgage rates, makes now an ideal time for would-be home sellers to get in on the action.

Also, notable, is that the National Association of REALTORS® report that vacation home sales between January and April jumped by 33%, year-over-year. The association also believes that vacation homes will remain a popular segment, as more and more companies are deciding that flexible working environments are part of the “new normal.”

With buyers still in the Southwest Florida market, now is a very good time to list your property. Inventory is still very low and not enough to satisfy current demand.
